After 8 years of ministry in the Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ, Associate Conference Minister Wade Zick is heading west to take on a new ministry and challenge. On Thursday, Wade submitted his resignation to the Conference effective June 30. He has accepted a position with the Pacific Northwest Conference (UCC) as Managing Director of Pilgrim Firs Camp and Conference Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
“I am extremely grateful for the amazing opportunities that this position has given to me both professionally and personally. It has been a privilege to serve the Minnesota Conference, to innovate with you and work to strengthen both congregations and leaders.”
Since beginning his service with the Minnesota Conference in May 2007, Wade has reinvigorated the Conference’s ministries with children and youth and enabled a whole new level of excellent resourcing for those working with children and youth in congregations. During his tenure, Wade has also overseen substantial changes at Pilgrim Point Camp with great success. He is much appreciated and respected among many who have often turned to him for advice and consult about faith in their congregations.
“We give thanks for the endless creativity and leadership Wade has so generously shared with the Minnesota Conference over these 8 years,” says Conference Minister Shari Prestemon. “While we surely will miss having him as a member of our staff team, we are grateful that his abundant gifts will continue to be shared elsewhere in the life of the United Church of Christ.”
You may send your well wishes to Wade at email@example.com. Plans will be announced at a later date for a more formal farewell.
