Legacy Circle Planned Giving

Planned gifts create a lasting legacy that ensures the work of the Minnesota Conference UCC will continue for years to come. You can join the Conference’s Legacy Circle by making a planned gift of any amount today.

What is a Planned Gift?

A planned gift is a way to leave assets (through your will, beneficiary designation, or estate plan) to a nonprofit upon your death, or to invest your money so that you receive an income during your life and bequeath the remaining funds to a nonprofit. Read more about the types of planned gifts below.

Types of Planned Gifts

A Bequest in Your Will

A bequest to the Conference is one of the easiest types of planned gifts to make. When you’re creating or updating your will, simply have your attorney add a gift to the Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ.

Retirement Plan Assets

You can name the Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan. The Conference is tax-exempt and can receive the full amount of your retirement account.

Life Insurance Assets

You can name the Conference as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. If you no longer need the policy, you can donate it now and get an income tax deduction.

Life Income Gift

You can make a gift that continues to pay you income through your lifetime, and you may get a tax deduction and avoid capital gains taxes. For more information on gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, and charitable remainder trusts, please fill out and return the Legacy Circle for Planned Giving commitment form.

Other Estate Gift (Transfer On Death / Pay On Death)

You can name the Minnesota Conference United Church of Christ as the beneficiary of your bank account, COD, or stocks by setting up a transfer on death or pay-on-death account.
