Focus on Youth Homelessness

One of the issues that the Minnesota Conference Justice and Witness Team is focusing on this year is youth homelessness. According to a 2012 Wilder Research Study, nearly half of 10,214 homeless Minnesotans were age 21 and younger; more than 1,000 were youth on their own. We are seeking to identify youth homelessness resources and projects across greater Minnesota.

Youth HomelessnessThe Justice and Witness Team will be sending letters to each church in the Minnesota Conference, asking for information about resources and projects in your area, both community and church based. In particular, we are seeking to learn more about projects in rural Minnesota, which may have fewer resources for homeless youth than the metro area. However, whether rural or urban, we would appreciate information about youth homelessness resources in your area, as well as youth homelessness ministries with which your congregation may be involved
