Now Offering – Peace Fund Grants!!
The Peace Fund Grant Program, of the Justice and Witness Team, empowers the Prophetic Voice of the Minnesota Conference UCC through grants to local congregations!
What is a Peace Fund Grant?
The Justice and Witness Team is working to move UCC congregations toward a path of advocacy. As the prophets of old spoke out against social injustice, local UCC congregations must join together to speak as one voice for justice for all.
Why should I care?
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” Martin Luther King, Jr., Letter from a Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963
What will it do for our church?
The Peace Fund offers your church grant dollars up to $500 toward a program or project of your choosing that will further the church’s social justice advocacy. It is renewable!
What will it do for our community or world?
It depends on the scope and nature of your church’s project. You might provide financial support for one or two members to attend the Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C. Or you might work with your local watershed district to construct a rain garden on the church property. Or … let the ideas flow!

Green Justice Congregations Awards
God’s works in creation are too wonderful, too ancient, too beautiful, and too good to be desecrated. The challenge is to confess our sins, to take seriously our role as stewards of the earth and to work for the renewal of creation. Humans as responsible stewards of the earth are called by God to restore its natural habitat where it has been damaged and to maintain its sustainable vitality.
Each year, the Justice and Witness Team recognize churches that have made an effort to protect God’s creation by taking steps to “GREEN” their churches. Learn more about the Green Justice Congregations Awards here.
